MNDP 10.24 - Say Cheese!

Last Friday's Beer Night was a success!  
Thanks to all who helped in the process as my usual front of house was not available.  Photos of the event here.

I've been pinging the masses and have come up with the following theme for next Monday's dinner: Say Cheese!  Each course will have a flavor profile that exhibits a unique cheese and will be paired with a wine brought by YOU.  I will notify the individual wines that we'll need and again, no obligation to spend more than $2 on your bottle.  

This is the first event where the attendees will be given direction on which type of wine to bring - hopefully with a positive result!  Also, a previous brainstorm session had agreed on the theme "Drunk and Full of Cheese" which would be pretty much the same idea.    

October 24th Menu**
Asian Pear and Gorgonzola Salad
Porcini Queso Fundido
Aged Cheddar and Broccolini Soup with Parmesan Kale Crisps
Gruyere and Fuji Pub Burger with Polenta Fries
Mascarpone Brownie 

6:30pm We Cook (come at 6:30 if you want to cook with us)7:30pm We Eat  (come at 8 if your lazy and just want to be fed)
Suggested donation is a bottle of wine and $20.  (Cash or Paypal to chefbarrs@gmail.com)

Holy crap, it's been waaaay too long.  Sorry for the hiatus but I'm back from Asia and over my jet lag and all caught up with work and have NO EXCUSES for missing another Monday Night Dinner Party.

Thanks to those who made it to this week's Monday Night Dinner Party.  Pictures have not yet been posted as I am still recovering from this week's shennanagans (including a triple Icing at last night's beach bonfire).
 
Due to the B.A.C. caused by the last Beer Night dinner, it has been decided that future Beer Nights will have to take place on Fridays.  Even more exciting, our own MNDP attendee, Mike "Prof" McGuirk has graciously offered up his own homebrew for the next beer night.

MNDP 5.2 - Honey, I love you.

As May comes rolling in, the sun comes out in the city (at least in Potrero Hill) and trees and plants are blossoming everywhere you look.  What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than a honey themed dinner?  Thanks to Matt Frantz for helping come up with the inspiration to this dinner and hopefully we can get his beekeeping friend to shell out some local goods.
