So the two week hiatus ended but then jetlagged into a thrid week.  I am fully recovered after a strategically timed routine of coffee and Advil PM.  Asia was WONDERFUL -thankyouforasking.

A quick summary:
Singapore(2 days), Hong Kong(6 days), Dongguan(2), Shenzhen(1), Chengdu(16 hrs), Shanghai(2 days) - all in 2 weeks

I, of course, would've preferred a less aggressive schedule but this was for business and not on my bill.  I did, however, manage to eat as much as humanly possible over the course of these 14 days.

Some highlights of the cuisine included:
Dunking live shrimp (on skewers) into a boiling hot pot of spicy chili broth
Amazed and dumbfounded by a "stuffed chicken wing" (test kitche/recipe to follow)
Spicy Crab buried under a pile of deep fried minced garlic
The best Char Sui I've ever had (Chinese BBQ PorK)
Finding out that 3 slabs of Foie Gras was my limit at the Marina Bay Casino buffet
Steamed whole eggplants in a XO sauce (recipe to follow)

The trip was invaluable - learning how business works in China/HK and how to get things done with my overseas counterparts.  More importantly, learning about the after hours culture and the focus on people was a great experience.

I look forward to my next opportunity to head that way and want to thank Debbie Ko and Peter and Lindsay Hermes for being such great hosts.  Can't wait to see you guys again!

Barrs!! It was awesome seeing you in this part of the world. I wish we could have shown you more in HK; we barely scratched the surface.

We went back to Under Bridge Spicy Crab last week with some friends and found out that the rest of the menu is equally as spicy and equally as good. I have a feeling you'll be back in town soon, so we'll save you a spot at the dinner table.
