bacon caramel.

    ingredients.

    • 4 strips of bacon - diced
    • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/2 tsp salt

    directions.

    1. crisp bacon in heavy sauce pan
    2. stir in cream
    3. allow to steep for 10 min
    4. while bacon steeps, heat 1 cup sugar in separate pot
    5. continue to stir until sugar completely melts and begins to darken
    6. the closer you get to burning the caramel (without actually burning it!) the better
    7. strain out bacon from cream and pour cream into melted sugar
    8. stir until well combined
